F.O. 11, Haggin-Grant 9 (League: 7-1, Overall: 11-2) - June 15 @ Bella Vista High School - Fair Oaks stretched its record to 7-1 in the Eastern Division of the American Legion's District 6 with a sweep of Haggin-Grant in their three-game series.

    A two-run homer in the top of the second put Fair Oaks down 2-0, but the Oaks came back with a four run outburst in the bottom of the third to take a 4-1 lead.
    Second baseman Dave Yurchak led off the inning with a hit to left and B.J. Crone and Jim Ott followed with hits to load the bases.
    Garrett Schoenfleder's hit to left scored Yurchak to make it 2-1 and keep the bases loaded. Jason Wilkerson walked to force in Crone and tie the game at 2-2 and then the next two batters struck out.
    Ott and Schoenfelder both scored to make it a 4-2 game on Rick Patel's hit to left.
    Haggin-Grant got one run back in the fourth, but the Oaks kept their lad by scoring three more in the bottom of the inning for a 7-3 advantage.
    Yurchak led off with a walk and Crone was hit by a pitch to start things off. Ott's grounder to third forced Yurchak and then Schoenflder flew to right for the second out of the inning. Wilkerson followed with a double, however, scoring Crone and Ott, and then Russ Beldi's hit to right center scored Wilkerson for a 7-3 lead.
    Haggin-Grant got one run back in the fifth, but the Oaks got two in the bottom of the inning for a 9-4 lead.
    With one out, Justin Hoppes got a hit by a diving second baseman and moved to second on Yurchak's bunt to the pitcher. Crone followed with a home run into the trees in left field to score two and make it a 9-4 game.
    Heither team scored again until the eighth when Haggin-Grant added one to make it 9-5. The Oaks answered back, however, with two runs in the bottom of the inning to make it an 11-5 game.
    With one out, Ott got a hit up the middle and that was followed by a Schoenfelder home run to left for the Oaks' 10th and 11th runs.
    A bases loaded one-out home run smash in the top of the ninth off Brandon Olson who came in to relieve Schoenfelder, however, brought the score to 11-9. Schoenfelder came back to the mound from shortstop to finish out the game. Despite a walk and an error, Schoenfelder got out of the inning with no further damage and the Oaks recorded an 11-9 victory.
