F.O. 10, Grass Valley 7 (League: 8-1, Overall: 12-2) - June 17 @ Bella Vista High School - Fair Oaks opened up a three-and-a-half game lead in the Eastern Division with a 10-7 win over Grass Valley.     The Oaks' bats remained hot, especially Garrett Schoenfelder and Jason Wilkerson, who both crushed home runs and had big days at the plate.

    Schoenfelder also had a double and four RBIs, while Wilkerson added a double and 3 RBI.
    The Oaks jumped on Grass Valley early with three runs in the first inning and six in the second for a 9-0 lead.
    Grass Valley managed a pair of runs off starting pitcher Russ Beldi in the third and added three more in the sixth when Beldi was replaced on the mound by Brandon Olson.
    Fair Oaks added a run in their half of the fourth for a 10-2 lead at the time. Grass Valley picked away, but couldn't close the gap as the Oaks held on for a 10-7 win.
    Nick Palumbo also had a good day at he plate with two hits, including a double, and Dave Yurchak closed out the game on the mound for the Oaks, replacing Olson in the seventh.
    The win raised the Oaks' Eastern Division leading record to 8-1, 12-2 overall. Coupled with Elk Grove's loss to Post 61, the Oaks sport the best record in District 6.
