Fair Oaks 8, Solano Concrete 5 (League: 14-4, Overall: 20-5) - July 1 @ Napa Valley College - Fair Oaks stepped up its level of play a notch as it took the field against Solano Concrete in the second game of the Mr. C's Tournament at Napa Valley College.
    The always tough Solano team returns 15 players from last year, but they were no match for Fair Oaks' scrappy squad as Post 383 led wire-to-wire in an 8-5 victory.
    The Oaks led 3-0 before Solano could get an out in the opening inning and went on from there, building a 5-0 lead before Solano finally scored its first runs in the third.
    Fair Oaks led 6-3 before Solano closed the gap with two runs in the fifth for a 6-5 deficit, but single runs in the sixth and seventh gave Fair Oaks an added cushion en route to the win.
    Ryan Reed was tough on the mound, pitching six strong innings before being relieved by Jim Ott in the seventh.
    Fair Oaks continued to pound the ball. After picking up 13 hits in their opening game against Utah, the Oaks came back for 12 more against Solano.
    B.J. Crone was 2-for-3 with a double and triple, and Ott was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
    Jason Wilkerson also had a good day at the plate with three hits in four tries, including a home run.
