Fair Oaks 3, Folsom 0 (League: 5-1, Overall: 7-1) - June 15 @ Folsom High - Fair Oaks recorded its fifth straight league win with a 3-0 victory over the Folsom Flames at Folsom High School.
    The Oaks got on the scoreboard in the top of the first after two were out as catcher Doug Matlack singled down the first base side. Third baseman Joe Liebman followed with a walk and then designated hitter Alex Graham's single into right field scored Matlack to make it a 1-0 game.
    Fair Oaks' next two runs came in the second as first baseman Robert Barrett led off with a walk. Left fielder Mike Wright followed with a bunt to move Barrett over and then Ricky LaFavor hit a ball to third. The throw went to first, but was high and got away allowing Barrett to reach third and LaFavor to safely reach first. With shortstop Ricky Alonso at the plate, LaFavor tried stealing second, but was thrown out. Then a pickoff throw from Folsom's catcher to third to try to get Barrett went into left field and Barrett scored to make it 2-0. Alonso eventually walked and with second baseman Aaron Yurchak at the plate, stole second. Yurchak got a hit to right field to score Alonso and the Oaks owned a 3-0 lead.
    Except for a leadoff hit in the third, a hit batter in the fifth and a pair of hits in the seventh, Gemma controlled Folsom with ease. He put the Flames down in order in the fourth, struck out two in the fifth, faced the minimum number of batters in the sixth and struck out two in the seventh en route to the complete game victory.
