third baseman L.J. Sneath in the first. Sneath was erased, however, on a steal attempt, and starting pitcer Dan Gemma and his Yolo counterpart breezed through the first two innings with no other runners reaching base.
In the top of the third, a leadoff triple to right center by catcher Mike Wright set up the first run of the game, as right fielder Steve Snider's ground ball the short brought Wright home.
Yolo again went out in order in the bottom of the inning and the Oaks came back for another run in the fourth as first baseman Manny Parra hit a one out home run over the right field fence to make it a 2-0 game.
Yolo finally got on the board in the bottom of the inning as they sent nine batters to the plate and scored four times to take a 4-2 lead. Robert Barrett took the mound for the Oaks in the fifth, but Yolo put a run up against him in both the fifth and sixth innings for the final 6-2 margin.
Fair Oaks had two walks to start off the top of the sixth as Garrett Holtzen and Sneath drew back-to-back free tickets - but the Oaks could not score. Second baseman Larry Lomascola was hit by a pitch in the seventh and left fielder Tim Cook beat out the throw on a ground ball to second in the seventh inning to put another pair of runners on, but again, the Oaks failed to score, and Yolo escaped with the 6-2 victory.
