Yolo 12, Fair Oaks 3 (League: 12-0, Overall: 19-5) - July 16 @ Sacramento City College - It's probably a good thing we were occupied elsewhere Monday night, as the Oaks suffered their biggest loss of the season - a stinging 12-3 defeat at the hands of Yolo Post 77.
This was the first loss for the Oaks in the District 6 tournament, but fortunately Post 383 had already secured a spot in both the championship game and next week's Area 1 playoffs with their 13-3 win over Folsom the previous night.
Fair Oaks took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first, but it was pretty much Yolo's game after that, as Post 77 took a 5-3 advantage into the seventh when they exploded for six runs and a 11-3 lead.
Josh Thompson led the Oaks, going three-for-five with a double. L.J. Sneath had a triple and Doug Matlack and Manny Parra each added a pair of hits.
