History repeated itself this year - well, sort of - the Oaks scored 17 runs again, but goose-egged West Sacramento for a convincing 17-0 victory to stay unbeaten on the year.

Starting pitcher Ryan Knippschild struck out 11 in six innings of work - including four in the second inning!
The Oaks scored twice in the first as right fielder Garrett Holtzen was hit by a pitch to lead things off. He moved to second on a ground ball by left fielder Steve Snider and then scored on center fielder L.J. Sneath's hit to left. Sneath moved to second on a ground out by shortstop Josh Thompson. First baseman Manny Parra was then hit by a ball four pitch and designated hitter Robert Barrett walked to load the bases. With catcher Kyle Carden at the plate, a passed ball scored Sneath to make it a 2-0 game.
In the West Sacramento second, Knippschild struck out the first two batters he faced. The third also struck out, but the ball got away from Carden behind the plate and the runner reached first safely. Knippschild then struck out the fourth batter of the inning to send the West Sacramento side down in order.

After a walk to Sneath to lead off the Oaks' fifth, West Sacramento sent a new pitcher to the mound, but he found little success as he walked Thompson and then gave up a home run to Parra to make it a 5-0 game.
The Oaks scored six more times in the sixth inning as Holtzen led off with a hit to center, followed by a hit to right by Snider and a walk to Sneath to load the bases.
Thompson's hit to right scored Holtzen and Snider to make it 7-0. With Parra at the plate, Thompson stole second. Parra then got a hit through the infield that deflected off the second baseman's glove and allowed Sneath and Thompson to score for a 9-0 lead.
Barrett hit a ball toward second that was fielded, resulting in Parra getting tagged on his way to the bag for the first out of the inning. Carden then walked after a wild pitch sent Barrett to second. Barrett was forced at third on a ground ball by third baseman Derek Chase. Chase reached safely on the other side and second baseman Larry Lomascola walked to load the bases.
Holtzen then delivered a hit to left to score Carden and Chase to give the Oaks an 11-0 lead.
One more run scored in the seventh as Thompson got a one out hit to center. With two outs, a grounder to third by Barrett sent Thompson to third, as the throw to first was off its mark to keep the inning alive. With Carden at the plate, a passed ball brought Thompson home for the 12th run of the game.
Kris Wright took the mound in the bottom of the seventh and kept the shutout intact as the Oaks came back in the top of the eighth for their final five runs of the game.
With two out, Holtzen picked up a walk and was sent to second on a hit up the middle by Charles Smith. Sneath followed with a home run over the right field fence to make it a 15-0 game. After a walk to Thompson and another West Sacramento pitching change, Mickey Wiser also put the ball over the right field barrier to give the Oaks a 17-0 lead.
Despite a hit in the bottom of the eighth and three hits in the ninth, West Sacramento failed to score off Wright and the Oaks walked away with a 17-0 victory.
