Fair Oaks 8, West Sacramento 2 (League: 5-0, Overall: 6-0) - June 9 @ Bella Vista High - Post 383 remained undefeated on the season and in league play with an 8-2 victory over West Sacramento in the second game of their Saturday doubleheader at Bella Vista High School.
    The Oaks picked up three runs forstarting pitcher Manny Parra in the second inning as designated hitter Steve Snider got a one out hit up the middle. First baseman Ryan Knippschild followed with a ball up the middle of the infield to put two runners on and then catcher Kyle Carden got a hit to right to load the bases.

    Second baseman Larry Lomascola followed with a fly to center to score Snider and then left fielder Tim Cook sent a ball to third. A bad throw to first allowed Knippschild and Carden to score to make it a 3-0 game.
    Four more runs followed in the fourth after two were out. Knippschild got a one out hit to center, but was erased on a steal attempt with Carden at the plate. Carden hit a ball to third and was safe on a bad throw to first. Lomascola followed with a walk and a walk to Cook loaded the bases with two outs.
    Right fielder Garrett Holtzen then hit a high bouncer to third. The third baseman grabbed the ball, but couldn't make a play and Carden scored to make it 4-0. Center fielder L.J. Sneath followed with a hit into left center to score Lomascola and Cook to make it 6-0. A wild pitch with third baseman Doug Matlack at the plate scored Holtzen to make it a 7-0 Fair Oaks lead.
    West Sacramento got both of its runs in the fifth, bringing the score to 7-2. The Oaks added the final run of the game in the bottom of the fifth as Snider got a one out walk. Knippschild then got a hit to left. The ball got away from the left fielder and Snider was able to come around and score to make it an 8-2 game.
    West Sacramento loaded the bases in the top of the sixth, but couldn't score and went quietly in the seventh as reliever Derek Chase put them down in order to preserve th 8-2 victory.
