The Oaks scored twice in the bottom of the first to get things rolling as center fielder Steve Snider started things off with a one out hit down the third base line. First baseman Mickey Weisser's ground ball to first moved Snider to second and then Snider scored on a double by left fielder Charles Smith. Smith scored as designated hitter Joe Gaggero followed with a hit to left to make it a 2-0 game.
The Oaks broke the game open in the third as five runs came home to make it a 7-0 game.
With one out, Smith got a hit to left, and then with two gone, a double to right center by catcher Doug Matlack scored Smith. With second baseman A.J. Snider followed with a hit, but Thompson was erased trying to take third for the second out of the inning. Weisser followed with his first home run of the season over the right center field fence to score Snider and himself and make it a 9-1 game.
The next batter, Smith, knocked Ft. Sutter's pitcher out of the game with a liner back up the middle off the Sutter pitcher's knee. Sutter's new pitcher struck out Gaggero to end the Oaks' threat.
Sutter went down 1-2-3 in the top of the sixth and the Oaks came back for their final two runs in the bottom of the inning.
Matlack led off with a walk, followed by a hit to left by Vidlund. Both runners advanced on a pitch in the dirt to Chase. Chase eventually grounded to short, but Wright followed with a hit down the third base line to score both runners and give the Oaks an 11-1 advantage.
