Fair Oaks 11, West Sacramento 2 (League: 8-2, Overall: 8-2) - June 11 @ Raley Field - Fair Oaks pounded out 17 hits en route to an 11-2 thrashing of West Sacramento at Raley Field.
    The Oaks scored twice in the opening inning as first baseman Mickey Weisser got a one out hit to right field to start things off. With two outs, pitcher Charles Smith tripled to center to score Weisser and then second baseman Larry Lomascola's hit off the glove of West Sacramento's shortstop scored Smith to give the Oaks an early lead.
    West Sacramento came back in the bottom of the inning to tie the game after Smith walked the leadoff batter and then gave up a single and a double down the right field line.
    Smith came back to get the next three batters with a ground ball to short and two strikeouts to end the inning.
    The Oaks went back in front in the second with a lone run as left fielder Derek Chase got a one out hit to right. Then, with two out, Weisser hit a "tweener" that fell into center field sending Chase to third and he scored on Rhinehart's hit to left to make it a 3-2 game.
    Smith struck out the side in the bottom of the second and the Oaks dominated the game the rest of the way as Smith combined with Dixon Allen and Kris Wright to hold West Sacramento scoreless over the next five innings.
    Post 383 scored two more runs in the fifth as Larry Lomascola started things off with a one out double down the left field line. Jason Lomascola followed with another double to left to score Larry and then with two outs, right fielder A.J. Vidlund got a hit to right to score Jason and make it a 5-2 game.

    The Oaks padded their lead in the sixth with four more runs. Weisser walked with one out and then scored on a triple to right by Rhinehart. West Sacramento put in a new pitcher, but he promptly gave up a double to Smith to score Rhinehart and make it 7-2. Smith scored on a single to right by Larry Lomascola and then with two outs, Gaggero got a hit to center. A Vidlund hit to right brought home Jason Lomascola who had replaced his brother on base after a ground ball erased him at second.
    Allen came in to pitch the sixth and protect the Oaks 9-2 lead. He struck out the first batter he faced before giving up a walk, but then threw ground balls to the next to batters to end the inning.
    Fair Oaks scored its final two runs in the seventh as Thompson led off with a double to right. He scored as Weisser followed with a hit to right that got away from the right fielder letting Weisser advance all the way to third. With Rhinehart at the plate, a wild pitch scored Weisser to give the Oaks an 11-2 lead. Steve Snider followed with a hit to left and David Breisacher drew a two out walk, but the Oaks weren't able to bring any other runs home.
    Wright took the mound in the bottom of the seventh for the Oaks, sandwiching an out between a pair of hits. West Sacramento was to be denied, however, as a fly to center got the second out and a spectacular diving catch - also to center - by Snider ended the game to improve the Oaks record to 8-2 on the season.
