Fair Oaks 10, Folsom 6 (League: 14-5, Overall: 14-5) - June 26 @ Folsom High School - Fair Oaks built on a an early 3-0 lead and defeated the Folsom Flames 10-6 at Folsom High School.
    The Oaks gave starting pitcher Dave Breisacher a 3-0 advantage in the third as left fielder Derek Chase led off with a hit to left field. He moved to third as shortstop Josh Thompson hit a ball to short. The ensuing throw to first got away allowing Thompson to take second. First basman Mickey Weisser followed with a hit to right to score Chase and then Thompson scored on a fly to center by right fielder Bill Rhinehart. The Oaks' third run scored after two were out as second baseman Larry Lomascola popped a ball to second. The ball was dropped, however, for an error and Weisser scored making it 3-0.
    The Oaks added two more runs in the fourth after two were out as center fielder Steve Snider walked to start things off. A double by Chase scored Snider and then a hit to right by Thompson scored Chase to make it 5-0.
    Folsom stormed back in the bottom of the fourth after two were out. A leadoff error was erased on a double play, but then the Flames had five consecutive hits, including a triple and a double to score three runs and make it a 5-3.
    The Oaks came back in the top of the fifth, however, as Rhinehart got a one out hit and moved to second on a groundout by designated hitter Charles Smith. Lomascola was then hit by a pitch and both runners scored on a double to right by third baseman A.J. Vidlund. Catcher Joe Gaggero walked and then the final run scored on a hit to left by Snider that brought Vidlund home for an 8-3 lead.
    Folsom added another pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth off a new Oaks pitcher as Brian Janowiak took the mound. A leadoff hit, walk and ground ball led to one run and then another hit brought the score to 8-5.
    The Oaks added another run in the sixth as Thompson was hit by a pitch to start the inning. With one out and Rhinehart at the plate, Thompson stole second. Rhinehart then doubled to score Thompson and make it a 9-5 game.
    Weisser took the mound for Fair Oaks in the sixth and promptly loaded the bases on a leadoff walk, hit and another walk. A failed double play allowed a run in on the next batter to bring the score to 9-6.
    The Oaks struck back again in the top of the seventh though, as Gaggero, Snider and Chase all had hits after one was out. Gaggero scored on Chase's hit to make it a 10-6 game.
    Folsom made rumblings in the bottom of the seventh with two hits after one was out, but Weisser got a fly ball to right on the next batter and then struck out the fifth batter of the inning to end the game with the Oaks prevailing 10-6.
