Fair Oaks 7, Charles Eggen 0 (League: 10-3, Overall: 10-3) - June 25 @ Bella Vista High School - Fair Oaks pitching continued to dominate District 6 as the Oaks' Charles Smith pitched a complete-game 7-0 victory against Charles Eggen at Bella Vista High School June 25.
    Post 383 took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second as third baseman Jason Lomascola reached first base on an error with one out. First baseman Tyler Robertson then got a hit to left and Lomascola was able to score as the ball got by Charles Eggen's left fielder. Robertson advanced to second on the play. Right fielder Steve Rinaudo followed with a hit to center moving Robertson to third. Robertson then scored as shortstop Derek Chase hit a ground ball to second to make it a 2-0 game.
    Smith, who allowed only two base runners through the first six innings, saw his lead increase in the bottom of the fifth as Rinaudo got on via error to lead off the inning. With one out, catcher Joe Gaggero got a hit to left field and then with two

out, second baseman Chris Rinaudo hit a ball to the left side that got by the third baseman and allowed Steve Rinaudo to score. Smith followed with a ball to right that got away from the right fielder, scoring both Gaggero and Chris Rinaudo for a 5-0 lead.
    Eggen's leadoff batter doubled to start the seventh, but a pop to short, strike out and grounder to first ended the Eggen threat as quickly as it started.
    The Oaks got another run in the bottom of the inning as Chase led off with a hit to center field. With Gaggero at the plate, Chase stole second, but was erased as Gaggero hit a ball to third. The htrow went to short in time to get Chase who got caught off the base. With center fielder Ryan Stevens at the plate, a pitch in the dirt sent Gaggero to second and another wild pitch advanced him to third. Stevens walked, but then Chris Rinaudo sent a fly to right that allowed Gaggero to tag and come in to score to make it a 6-0 lead.
    The Oaks scored their final run in the eighth as left fielder Mickey Weisser walked to start things off. Fly ball outs by Lomascola and Robertson followed, but then Steve Rinaudo got a hit to left to move Weisser to second. The next batter, Chase, sent a ball to short that went for an error to load the bases.
    With Gaggero at the plate, a wild pitch scored Weisser from third to give the Oaks a 7-0 lead. Smith put Eggen down in order in the top of the ninth, including striking out the final two batters to give the Oaks the win. Smith recorded 11 strikeouts in the game.
