Derek Chase dives back into first ahead of the throw to Redding first baseman Trevor Decker in the Oaks 6-5 win over the Rattlers in the Area 1 Playoffs at Woodland's Clark Field.

Fair Oaks 6, Redding Rattlers 5 (League: 16-4, Overall: 22-7) - July 22 @ Clark Field, Woodland - Fair Oaks staged a ninth-inning come-from-behind victory to stay in the winner's bracket in the Area 1 Playoffs at Woodland's Clark Field.
The Oaks and starting pitcher Charles Smith fell behind 1-0 to the Redding Rattlers as the Rattlers scored in the second inning and Redding took a 2-0 lead in the fourth with another single run.
Fair Oaks came back to take the lead in the top of the sixth, however, as second baseman Chris Rinaudo led off the inning with a walk. With one out, Rinaudo scored as right fielder Mickey Weisser got a hit to center field. The ball got by Redding center fielder David Ford allowing Rinaudo to come in to make it a 2-1 game. First baseman Tyler Robertson then got a hit to left center scoring Weisser and tying the game at 2-2. The next batter, Smith, sent a hit to left followed by a hit to center by third baseman Jason Lomascola to score Robertson and make it 3-2 in the Oaks favor.
Redding went back ahead in the bottom of the inning as left fielder Casey Burton got a one out hit up the middle. Catcher Austin Stack followed with a home run to left to make it a 4-3 Redding lead. The homer drove Smith off the mound in favor of reliever Brent Fuhrman. Fuhrman walked the first batter he faced before getting out of the inning on a double play.
The Oaks trailed until the top of the ninth when they scored three times to make it a 6-4 game. With one out, Rinaudo worked the count full before drawing a walk. Center fielder Ryan Stevens then delivered a double to right center to score Rinaudo and tie the game at 4-4. Weisser then came to the plate and hit his second home run of the series - a massive shot over the right field fence - scoring Stevens ahead of himself to make it a 6-4 game.
A bit of misfortune then befell the Oaks as Robertson, the next batter, struck out and was ejected from the game after throwing his bat.
The Rattlers made a game of it in the bottom of the ninth as second baseman Josh Burch led off with a hit to left and then scored on a double by Jeff Smith, who took the mound for Redding after the Oaks took their 6-4 lead in the top of the inning.
Fuhrman settled down to get the next three batters - with a fly ball to Trevor Lewis in right ending the game and giving the Oaks the narrow victory.
