First baseman Tyler Robertson slams the ball toward first base in the fourth inning of Post 383's game against West Sacramento at Bella Vista High School. The ground out moved runners to second and third as the Oaks scored four runs to up their lead to 10-0.
Fair Oaks 15, West Sac. 4 (League: 2-2, Overall: 2-2) - June 10 @ Bella Vista High School - Fair Oaks got back in the win column as Post 383 pounded West Sacramento for a 15-4 win at Bella Vista High School.
    Runs came in bunches as Fair Oaks scored five times in the first inning for starting pitcher Brian Janowiak. With one out, third baseman Jason Lomascola started things off as he was hit by a pitch. Left fielder Charles Smith was also hit to put two on and then first baseman Tyler Robertson's hit to right field contributed to the Oaks' first run. Lomascola tried to score, but was thrown out at the plate, but Smith kept running and the attempted throw to get him got away and he came all the way around to score. Robertson then scored as center fielder Steve Rinaudo hit a ball to short, The throw to first was high and he was safe. Right fielder Joe Burson then got a hit up the middle to score Rinaudo and shortstop Derek Chase followed with a hit by short to put another Oaks runner on the bases. Second baseman Kyle Richardson then walked to load the bases and two more runs scored when catcher Joe Gaggero hit a ball to the first baseman. The toss back to the pitcher running toward the bag was dropped and Burson and Chase both scored for a 5-0 lead.
    The Oaks added a single run in the second as Lomascola was hit for the second time in as many innings. Smith followed with a base hit to left and then Robertson walked to load the bases. Rinaudo then sent a fly to left to score Lomascola from third to make it a 6-0 game.
    Fair Oaks added another four runs in the fourth as Lomascola led off with a hit to center. Smith was hit by a pitch and then Robertson moved both runners over with a ground ball to first. Rinaudo then walked to load the bases.
    With Burson at the plate, a balk scored Lomascola to make it 7-0. Burson then doubled to left to score Smith and Rinaudo to give the Oaks a 9-0 lead. Burson took third on the throw home trying to get Rinaudo. A walk followed to Chase and then a ground ball to short by Richardson brought home Burson to make it a 10-0 game.
    Fair Oaks went up 14-0 in the fifth as Lomascola led off with a walk. A fly to left by Smith was dropped and then a hit to center by Robertson loaded the bases. Rinaudo then got a hit down the left field line to score Lomascola and Smith to make it 12-0 and prompted West Sacramento's second pitching change of the game.
    Burson flew to left field and then Chase hit a ground ball to short. The throw to first was low and dropped and Robertson scored to make it 13-0. A ground out by Richardson got West Sacramento the second out of the inning and brought Gaggero to the plate. A return throw to the pitcher by the catcher got away and Rinaudo scrambled home to give the Oaks a 14-0 lead.
    West Sacramento got its first run of the game in the top of the sixth and added three more in the seventh as Trevor Lewis relieved Janowiak on the mound. Lewis turned it aorund in the eighth, however, facing only three batters. The Oaks came back to score their final run in the eighth as Gaggero led off with a double. Dustin Aimes followed with a hit to right that sent Gaggero to third and Gaggero came home as the ball was dropped on the throw in, giving the Oaks a 15-4 lead.
    Robertson took the mound in the top of the ninth and struck out the first two batters he faced before gicing up a walk. But the next batter grounded out to end the game and give the Oaks a lopsided 15-4 victory.
