Ryan Stevens sends a pitch toward home in Fair Oaks' June 16 game against West Sacramento at Renfree Field. The Oaks lost the contest 6-1.
West Sacramento 6, Fair Oaks 1 (League: 4-3, Overall: 4-3) - June 16 @ Renfree Field - After its 7-4 win the previous evening over Manhart, Fair Oaks looked flat in a 6-1 loss to West Sacramento June 16 at Renfree Field.
The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth when West Sacramento strung together a one out double and single off starting pitcher Ryan Stevens to grab a 1-0 advantage. Another lone run scored in the fifth, but the Oaks got one back in the bottom of the inning after two were out as Stevens aided his own cause with a hit to center field. With second baseman Chris Rinaudo at the plate, a balk sent Stevens to second and he scored as Rinaudo got a hit to left to make it a 2-1 game.
That would be the last run the Oaks scored, however, as West Sacramento added two runs in the sixth and another pair in the seventh for the 6-1 victory.
Fair Oaks went out in order in the bottom of the sixth and a one out walk to third baseman David Breisacher in the seventh proved to be the only base runner the Oaks could get as Post 383 lost its third contest of the year.
The Oaks managed only five hits in the contest, led by a 3x3 performance by Rinaudo, including a triple. Post 383 commited four errors in the contest.
