Folsom 12, Fair Oaks 10 (League: 10-1, Overall: 10-1) - June 22 @  Bella Vista High School - Folsom handed Fair Oaks its first loss of the year as the Flames beat Post 383 in 11 innings, 12-10, at Bella Vista High School.
A walk and two consecutive hits off Oaks starting pitcher Trevor Lewis in the first inning gave the Flames a 1-0 lead. Post 383 went out in order in the bottom of the first, and Lewis settled down in the top of the second to put down Folsom in order, as well.
The Oaks came back to take a short-lived lead in the bottom of the second as second baseman Steve Rinaudo led off with a walk and catcher Austin Morgan followed with a home run over the left field fence to make it a 2-1 game.
Folsom tied the game in the third with a single run and then went up 3-2 in the fourth as a pair of hits, including a one out double, brought in a run. Folsom added another three runs in the fifth, driving Lewis off the mound in favor of Andrew Leduc.  Leduc gave up a hit to the first batter he faced, bringing in a run and making it a 6-2 game, but retired the next hitter to end the inning.
The Oaks rallied with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to go back into the lead at 7-6, driving the Flames' starter out of the game.
With one out, designated hitter Kyle Richardson got a hit up the middle and right fielder Mickey Weisser followed with a walk. With two outs, Morgan got a hit to right center to score Richardson and make it 6-3. Joe Holguin, who came in to hit for third baseman Jason Lomascola, walked to load the bases, and then first baseman Tyler Robertson's hit to left center scored Weisser, Morgan and Holguin to tie the game at 6-6. Left fielder Nikolai Rowe walked and then shortstop Chris Dennison got a hit to left to score Robertson to make it a 7-6 game. Folsom brought in a new pitcher at that point. He gave up a walk to center fielder Ryan Stevens, but escaped the inning without any more runs scoring.
A leadoff walk and home run put Folsom back in the lead in the top of the sixth, as Leduc ran into some problems on the mound. Folsom scored one more run in the inning to take a 9-7 lead over the Oaks.
In what could have been a crucual turning point in the game, Weisser came to the plate to lead off the bottom of the sixth. He was hit by a pitch, but the home plate umpire didn't award him first base. Weisser later struck out. Rinaudo followed with a ground ball to third, but then Morgan got a hit to left field. The Oaks could have had two runners on with only one out instead of one runner on with two outs. With Holguin at the plate, Morgan stole second, but then Holguin struck out to end the inning.
Folsom added another run in the eighth, but the Oaks came back to tie the game in the bottom of the inning with three runs to make it a 10-10 contest.
Weisser led off with a double to left center and Rinaudo followed with a hit to right center, taking second on the throw back in. Morgan followed with a hit to left to score Weisser and Rinaudo and make it a 10-9 game and force another Folsom pitching change. The next batter, Holguin, then bunted back to the pitcher, but the new hurler threw the ball away at first base and Morgan scored to make it 10-10.
Robert Beard came in to pitch the ninth for Fair Oaks, facing only three batters despite a leadoff walk. The game remained tied until the 11th when Folsom hits and Oaks errors combined for a pair of runs to give the Flames a 12-10 lead.
In the bottom of the 11th, the Oaks almost pulled off another comeback as two runners reached scoring position with two out.
Robertson led off with a walk and then with one out, Dennison got a hit to right field. A ground ball to second by Stevens moved Robertson to third and Dennison to second, but then a fly ball to left by Richardson ended the game and the Oaks went down to a 12-10 loss to Folsom.
