Fair Oaks 6, Yolo 2 (League: 3-0, Overall: 3-0) - June 4 @ Bella Vista High School - Fair Oaks completed a doubleheader sweep of Yolo Post 77 with a 6-2 victory over the visitors from Woodland at Bella Vista High School.
Steve Rinaudo started the game on the mound for the Oaks and held Yolo scoreless until the third when Post 77 got a single run across to take a 1-0 lead.
Fair Oaks tied the contest in the fourth and added another pair of runs in the inning to take a lead they'd never give up. With one out, first baseman Mickey Weisser hit a ball to short that forced Yolo's shortstop to try for a diving catch. The ball was droped and Weisser was safe at first with a hit. Rinaudo followed with a walk and then a hit to left center by catcher Austin Morgan scored Weisser to tie the game. Morgan went to second on the throw home and Rinaudo took third on the play. With two out, right fielder Trevor Lewis added another hit to left to score Morgan and Rinaudo and make it a 3-1 game.
Rinaudo put Yolo down in order in the top of the fifth and the Oaks came back with another run in the bottom of the inning.
Left fielder Robert Butler led off the inning with a hit to left and  center fielder Ryan Stevens followed with another hit - also to left - to give the Oaks a pair of runners. With second baseman Kyle Richardson at the plate, Butler was picked off, but Richardson took his place on a ground ball to short as he beat the throw to the bag. Weisser then doubled to right field to score Richardson and make it a 4-1 game.
Brent Fuhrman took the mound for the Oaks in the top of the sixth, hitting the first batter he faced. The Yolo runner advanced to second on a wild pitch and then to third on a ground ball back to first, scoring as the next hitter bounced a ball back over the mound to make it a 4-2 game.
Fuhrman retired the next two batters, however, to escape any further damage.
Fair Oaks also faced a new pitcher in the sixth and the Oaks scored two more runs as third baseman Jason Lomascola greeted him with a leadoff double to right center.
Tyler Robertson pinch hit for Lewis, doubling to left center to score Lomascola and make it a 5-2 game.
With one out and Robert Beard at the plate, Robertson stole third. Beard grounded out to first, but the next batter - Stevens - got a hit up the middle to score Robertson and give the Oaks a 6-2 lead.
Andrew Leduc came in to pitch the final inning for the Oaks and retired Post 77 in order to preserve the victory for the Fair Oaks and raise their record to 3-0 on the year.
