Fair Oaks 2, Yolo 1 (League: 4-0, Overall: 4-0) - June 5 @ Clark Field,
Woodland - Fair Oaks completed a three-game sweep of
arch-rival Yolo with a come-from-behind ninth-inning victory at Clark
Field in Woodland.
Yolo took a 1-0 lead in the sixth inning and
held it until the top of the ninth when the Oaks loaded the bases and
scored two runs. With one out, Mickey Weisser singled to left field,
followed by a Steve Rinaudo hit to right. Austin Morgan loaded the
bases with a hit over the shortstop's head. After a strikeout by Jason
Lomascola, Robert Butler carried the count to 2-2 and then singled in
two runs to give the Oaks the lead.
Tyler Robertson nailed down the win in the
bottom of the ninth. Robertson pitched a complete-game victory,
striking out 17 Post 77 batters. It was the first time Fair Oaks swept
a season series from Yolo over the past three years. Prior to that, the
teams only met once during regular-season play each year due to a
different divisional alignment.
