Fair Oaks 24, West Sacramento 2 (League: 9-0, Overall: 9-0) - June 19 @  Bella Vista High School - Fair Oaks completed a three-game sweep of West Sacramento with a 24-2 victory over the visitors at Bella Vista High School. The win also improved the Oaks record to 9-0 on the year - their best-ever start - breaking their 8-0 mark that started the 2001 season.
Fair Oaks sent nine batters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning as they scored their first four runs of the game. Third baseman Steve Rinaudo led off the inning with a walk and with second baseman Kyle Richardson at the plate was runing on a passed ball, motoring all the way to third base. Richardson struck out, but then with first baseman Mickey Weisser at the plate, a wild pitch allowed Rinaudo to score for a 1-0 lead.
Weisser walked and then pitcher Ryan Stevens hit a ball to first that was booted and skipped away from the first baseman. By the time the pitcher recovered the ball and threw to first, Stevens was safe.
Catcher Austin Morgan then doubled to left field to score Weisser and right fielder Trevor Lewis followed with a ball to third that was misplayed, allowing Lewis to reach safely and Stevens to score. With center fielder Nikolai Rowe at the plate, another wild pitch brought in Morgan to make it a 4-0 game.
In the second, consecutive hits by Rinaudo, Richardson and Weisser, brought in another run as Rinaudo crossed the plate for a 5-0 lead, and also chased West Sacramento's starting pitcher off the mound.
With one out, a hit to left field by Morgan scored Richardson to give the Oaks a 6-0 lead in the game.
West Sacramento loaded the bases off Stevens in the third with two out, but failed to score as Stevens struck out the next batter to end the inning.
The Oaks added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Morgan started things off as he sent the first pitch to him over the left field fence to give the Oaks a 7-0 lead. Lewis followed with a hit to left and then with Rowe at the plate, a wild pitch sent Lewis to second. Lewis then stole third and the throw got by the third baseman allowing Lewis to score to make it 8-0. Shortstop Chris Dennison then doubled to right field and left fielder Robert Beard was hit by a pitch. Rinaudo followed with a ground ball to third resulting in a force of  Dennison. With Richardson at the plate, a double steal by Rinaudo and Beard advanced the runners and then Richardson walked to load the bases. Weisser was then hit by a pitch to force in  Beard and make it a 9-0 game.
West Sacramento got its only two runs of the game in the top of the sixth after Stevens suffered some control problems, giving up a hit, walking a batter and hitting another.
Andrew Leduc
But the Oaks came right back and increased their lead to 18-2 as they scored another nine runs in the sixth inning.
Ryan Appledorn, who had come in the previous half inning to catch, led off the inning with a walk. Beard was then hit by a pitch which resulted in another West Sacramento pitching change. The new hurler didn't have much success, however, as he got the next batter - Rinaudo to fly to center. The ball was dropped, however, loading the bases for the Oaks. Richardson followed with a hit to left to score Appledorn and then Weisser walked to force in  Beard and make it 11-2. Stevens then got a hit to right center to make it a 12-2 contest and keep the bases loaded. West Sacramento finally got an out as Morgan flew to right, but then Andrew Leduc came up - hitting in the spot previously occupied by Lewis - and bashed a grand slam home run over the left field fence and well up into one of the trees that border the Oaks' outfield fence and residential houses next to the school.
The homer gave the Oaks a 16-2 lead, but Post 383 wasn't through. Rowe followed with a walk and Appledorn got a hit to center. Beard then hit a ball to short. The throw went to second to get Appledorn, but the relay to first went wide and Beard was safe. Rinaudo followed with a ball to third that was booted and Rowe scored to make it 17-2. Richardson then followed with a hit to left to score Beard and make it an 18-2 game.
Leduc came in to pitch the seventh for the Oaks, sending West Sacramento down in order. The Oaks also faced a new pitcher in the seventh, managing only one base runner as Leduc hit a ball to third with two out. The ball rolled under the glove of the third baseman allowing Ledeuc to reach safely.
Fair Oaks had one more burst of scoring in them as the Oaks added six more runs in the eighth for the final 24-2 tally.
Appledorn led off with a hit to left, followed by walks to Beard and Rinaudo to load the bases. Richardson's hit to right center scored Appledorn and then with one out, Stevens got a hit up the middle to score Beard to make it 20-2.
Morgan then hit a fly to right that allowed Rinaudo to tag and score - and as it turned out - unfortunately for Leduc, the next batter.
Leduc came up with two runners on instead of three and promptly sent the ball over the fence again for his second home run of the game and a 24-2 lead.
Rowe came in to pitch the top of the ninth for the Oaks and faced only three batters despite giving up a one out hit. The next batter sent a fly to right and the Oaks doubled off the base runner to end the game.
