Trevor Lewis leads off third as Kyle Richardson is set to hit in the third inning of the Oaks 7-5 win over West Sacramento June 12.

Fair Oaks 7, West Sacramento 5 (League: 6-1, Overall: 10-1-1) - June 12 @ Bridgeway Lakes Park - Fair Oaks survived a mid-game drought of runs to hang on and beat West Sacramento 7-5 at Bridgeway Lakes Park.
The Oaks went up 2-0 in the first as center fielder Kyle Richardson led off with a ground ball to second, beating the throw to first for a base hit. Shortstop Keith Jennette followed with a hit to left to move Richardson to second and then with third baseman Abel Alcantar at the plate, a wild pitch moved both runners up. Alcantar then grounded out to second, but Richardson scored to make it 1-0. First baseman Andrew LeDuc followed with a hit to left to bring in Jennette and make it a 2-0 game.
Post 383 scored again in the second as left fielder Trevor Lewis got a one out hit down the third base line. The next two batters - designated hitter Bret Gibson and Richardson - walked to load the bases and then Jennette got a pop-up hit just over first that glanced off the first baseman's glove and allowed Lewis to score.
Two more runs came home in the third to make it a 5-0 lead as right fielder Mike Sanchez and catcher Jesse Olson got back-to-back hits to left with one out. Then with two outs, Lewis was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Gibson followed with a hit to left to score Olson and Sanchez.
West Sacramento finally got on the scoreboard with a lone run in the fourth and added two more in the fifth to close the score to 5-3.
The Oaks loaded the bases in the seventh with no outs as LeDuc and Sanchez were hit by pitches to start off the inning and Olson got a hit to right. The next three Oaks batters went down in order, however, leaving the score at 5-3.
West Sacramento came back with another run in the bottom of the inning to make it 5-4. That apparently woke the Oaks up as Post 383 finally scored again in the top of the eighth as Richardson led off with a double. Jennette followed with a hit off the first baseman's glove that moved Richardson to third. Jennette was caught stealing though with Alcantar at the plate and Alcantar struck out to give the Oaks their second out of the inning. LeDuc came through, however, belting a hit into right to score Richardson and make it a 6-4 game.
The Oaks added an insurance run in the ninth as Olson and Justin Wilson got back-to-back hits to start the inning. With one out and Gibson at the plate, Olson scored as Gibson struck out. The ball was dropped by the catcher forcing a throw to first and Olson came home to make it a 7-4 game.
After starting pitcher Chris Johnson gave up a leadoff hit in the bottom of the ninth, Richardson replaced him on the mound. Richardson gave up a hit to the first batter he faced, followed by a walk to load the bases, but then an Oaks double play and a strike out ended the game with Fair Oaks still on top 7-5.
