John Constance hurls a pitch toward home in the Oaks 4-1 loss against Charles Eggen. Constance struck out 14 Eggen batters in the game, but the Oaks' bats couldn't get him any runs.

Charles Eggen 4, Fair Oaks 1 (League: 8-2, Overall: 12-2-1) - June 17 @ El Camino High - A short-handed Fair Oaks team lost only its second league game of the season as the Oaks dropped a 4-1 decision to the cellar-dwelling Charles Eggen Post 832 team in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, June 17.
Fair Oaks' usually active bats left them as the Oaks collected only six hits in the game, only two of which came in the same inning. Starting pitcher John Constance looked sharp as he  struck out 12 batters going into the seventh, but then the roof caved in as a hit batter and three consecutive hits led to two Charles Eggen runs.  Constance struck out the next two batters, but then two more hits scored another run for a 3-0 lead for Eggen and prompted a pitching change as Brian Garber took the mound for the Oaks. Garber got a ground ball on the first batter he faced, but a throwing error led to another Charles Eggen run and saw the Oaks trailing 4-0.
Fair Oaks went into the ninth looking as though they would be shut out for the first time this season. But with two out, center fielder Trevor Lewis drilled the ball over the left field fence for a solo home run to make the score 4-1. The next batter struck out, however, and Charles Eggen escaped with its first league win of the season.

Fair Oaks: Pitching - Constance, Garber (7) and Olson. Top Hitters - Alcantar 2B; Lewis 2x3, HR; Johnson 2B.
Charles Eggen: Pitching - Herrlinger and Stubben. Top Hitters - Roach 2x4, 2 2B.
