The Oaks' Steve Rinaudo watches a pitch come in during Post 383's 8-7 win over Folsom in the second game of a Saturday doubleheader at Bella Vista High School.

Fair Oaks 8, Folsom 7 (League: 14-3, Overall: 21-6-1) - July 8 @ Bella Vista High School - After blowing a 4-0 lead, Fair Oaks staged a late inning rally to escape with a come-from-behind 8-7 victory over the Folsom Flames at Bella Vista High School.
The Oaks scored two runs in the first as right fielder Steve Rinaudo led off with a ball hit to center field that looked like an easy catch. The ball bounced off the fielder's glove, however, going for an error and Rinaudo turned the mistake into a double.
Rinaudo moved to third on a ground ball to short by second baseman Keith Jennette and then scored on a fly ball to center by first baseman Andrew LeDuc.
Designated hitter Mike Sanchez followed with a solo home run over the left field fence to give the Oaks a 2-0 advantage.
Starting pitcher Chris Johnson put Folsom down in order in the bottom of the inning and the Oaks came back for another pair of runs in the top of the second.
Shortstop Chris Dennison led off with a ground ball to third that scooted right under the fielder's glove, giving the Oaks a runner on first. Center fielder Kyle Richardson followed with a two-run homer over the right field fence to give Post 383 an early 4-0 lead.
Folsom came back in the bottom of the inning to load the bases and score three times and drive Johnson off the mound in favor of Brian Garber. Garber gave up a hit to the first batter he faced. Two more Folsom runs came in and the Flames owned a 5-4 lead over the Oaks.
Folsom added single runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to expand the Flames' lead to 7-4, but the Oaks battled back to tie the game in the top of the sixth as Richardson started things off with a one out hit to right field. With catcher Jesse Olson at the plate, a bad pickoff to first resulted in Richardson going all the way to third base and he scored on Olson's hit to right field. Left fielder Greg Polanski then hit a ball to shortstop that was knocked down, but no play was made and right fielder Steve Rinaudo followed with a ground ball to second that was missed by Folsom's fielder for an error allowing Olson to score. Second baseman Keith Jennette followed with a bunt which pulled the first baseman away from the bag. No one covered the base and Jennette was safe with Polanski scoring to tie the game at 7-7.
The Oaks took the lead in the top of the seventh as third baseman Justin Wilson drew a one out walk, followed by a hit to center field by Dennison. Richardson followed with a hit to right to score Wilson and the Oaks took an 8-7 lead. Post 383 may have had more, but Dennison was caught off the bag after making a wide turn around third and Olson followed with a fly out to center to end the inning.
Rinaudo made a diving catch in right field for the first out in Folsom's half of the inning, but then a hit to center put the tying run on and drove Garber off the mound in favor of LeDuc. LeDuc walked the first batter he faced, but then got a gorund ball to short on the next that went for a double play to end the game and give the Oaks the 8-7 victory.
