Justin Wilson dives back into first ahead of the throw to Southside first baseman Brandon McKeehan in the Oaks 9-6 win over Southside on Saturday at Sacramento City College.

Fair Oaks 9, Southside 6 (League: 15-3, Overall: 25-6-1) - July 15 @ Sacramento City College - After trailing for most of the game, Fair Oaks Post 383 came back with five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to win the District 6 Championship 9-6 over Southside.
Fair Oaks grabbed an early lead with a single run in the first inning as right fielder Steve Rinaudo got a one out double to center field. Center fielder Kyle Richardson followed with a triple to left field that scored Rinaudo and gave Post 383 the lead.
Southside came back with three runs in the second, however, as Oaks starting pitcher John Constance struggled early in the game.
A one out double by Southside's pitcher Derek Mayer started things off. A passed ball moved Mayer to third and then second baseman Joe Powell walked to put two runners on. Left fielder Mike Stefani hit a ball to short that should have gone for a double play, but after the out at second, a wide throw landed Stefani safely at first and Mayer scored to tie the game.
A hit by shortstop Mike Olivar followed and a walk to right fielder Greg Jorrin loaded the bases. Center fielder Joe Castilone's two out hit to center scored Powell and Olivar to give Southside a 3-1 lead.
The Oaks came back to tie the game in the bottom of the inning as third baseman Justin Wilson led off with a hit to center. An errant pickoff try moved Wilson to second and then left fielder Robert Butler walked on a ball four passed ball that moved Wilson to third. The next batter hit into a double play, but Wilson scored to make it 3-2. Second baseman Greg Polanski then struck out, but the ball got away from the catcher and Polanski made it safely to first to keep the inning alive. With Rinaudo at the plate, Polanski stole second, and then Rinaudo tripled to left field to score Polanski and tie the game 3-3.
Southside went up 5-3 in the fourth after two were out, driving Constance off the mound in favor of Brian Garber. Garber got Southside catcher Parker Mayo to pop up on the infield to end the inning.
The Oaks got one run back in the bottom of the inning as Butler led off with a hit to right. With one out, Polanski was hit by a pitch and then Rinaudo's hit to right brought in Butler to close the gap to 5-4.
Southside extended its lead with a single run in the top of the sixth to make it 6-4 and could have got more as they loaded the bases with two outs. But Garber got a ground ball to get out of the inning with the Oaks trailing by two.
Southside got a runner as far as third in the seventh as Olivar hit a two out triple to left, but Garber got out of the inning without a run scoring.
Mayer struck out the Oaks in order in the bottom of the seventh, but Southside couldn't put any more runs on the board in the top of the next inning. But then the Oaks went to work, scoring five times in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead 9-6.
Designated hitter Abel Alcantar led off with a ground ball to short, but beat the throw to first for a hit. Shortstop Chris Dennison was then hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Alcantar was erased on a force at third when Wilson hit a ground ball to the left side, but Wilson beat the relay to first to avoid the double play. Butler was then hit by a pitch and the Oaks had the bases loaded with one out. Catcher Jesse Olson followed with a hit to left that scored Dennison and Wilson to tie the game at 6-6. Olson's hit drove Mayer off the mound in favor of Olivar, but the new hurler immediately ran into trouble as Polanski bunted back to the mound. Olivar fielded the ball and went to third with the throw, but the ball sailed over the third baseman's head and Butler came in to score to make it a 7-6 game.
Southside set up to intentionally walk Rinaudo, but the third ball went wide for a wild pitch and Olson scored for an 8-6 Oaks lead. Polanski went to third on the play. Richardson followed with a sacrifice fly to right that allowed Polanski to tage and score and the Oaks owned a 9-6 advantage.
Andrew LeDuc came in to pitch the top of the ninth. An error put Southside first baseman Brandon McKeehan on to lead off the inning and a wild pitch sent him to second, but LeDuc came back with three straight out to end the game and give the Oaks the District 6 Championship.
