Fair Oaks 11, B&L Properties 1 (League: 15-3, Overall: 26-6-1) - July 27 @ Borman Field,  Yountville, Calif. - Fair Oaks used 16 hits, including two towering home runs from first baseman Andrew LeDuc, to defeat B&L Properties of Fairfield in the opening round of the 2006 Area 1 Playoffs.
The Oaks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as center fielder Steve Rinaudo led off with a first-pitch double to right center field. Rinaudo moved to third on a second to first groundout by second baseman Kyle Richardson and then scored after two were out on a hit to left field by right fielder Mike Sanchez.

Oaks shortstop Chris Dennison prepares to gather in the ball on a fourth inning play in the Oaks 11-1 win over B&L Properties.
Post 383 scored another pair of runs for starting pitcher Robert Butler in the top of the third as Richardson led off with a bad hop hit to second base and then LeDuc sent a pitch high over the right center field fence to make it a 3-0 game.
Another pair of runs scored in the fifth to make it a 5-0 game. Sanchez led off the inning with a double to left center and moved to third on shortstop Chris Dennison's ground ball to short. Designated hitter Bret Gibson followed with a walk and then left fielder Chris Johnson got a hit down the third base line to score Sanchez and make it 4-0. Third baseman Greg Polanski followed with a sharply hit ball to third. B&L third baseman Trent Fuller couldn't find the handle, however, and Gibson scored to make it 5-0.
B&L went out in order in the bottom of the fifth as Butler continued to dominate the Fairfield team. B&L only had one hit through the first five innings. The Oaks faced a new pitcher in the top of the sixth as Colby Cabral replaced starter Erik Gonsalves on the mound.
Fair Oaks greeted the new pitcher rudely after an initial out as LeDuc hit his second home run of the game - this time to left field - for a 6-0 lead. The Oaks failed to score again in the inning, but Sanchez and Dennison both followed LeDuc's homer with base hits.
The Oaks added another three runs in the seventh after Johnson led off with a walk. Polanski followed with a ball to short that was knocked down, but B&L shortstop Ethan Gibbons couldn't make a play and Polanski reached first safely. Rinaudo followed with a hit to right field that loaded the bases and then a Richardson fly ball to left allowed Johnson to tag and score for the 7-0 lead. With two outs, Sanchez walked to re-load the bases and then Dennison's hit to left scored Polanski and Rinaudo to make it a 9-0 game.
B&L finally got a run home in the bottom of the seventh, but that inning also saw two of the Fairfield coaches getting ejected from the game for arguing with the umpire after a close call on a double play ball gave B&L two outs. A passed ball actually scored the run as Butler was slow getting off the mound to cover home plate as Olson chased the ball down.
The Oaks came right back, however, to score two more runs in the top of the eighth to give them an 11-1 lead. Gibson led off with a hit up the middle, followed by a hit down the third base line by Johnson. With one out, Rinaudo walked and then Richardson hit a ball to second. The second baseman had to make an awkward dive to stop the ball and then wound up throwing it over the first baseman's head and Gibson and Johnson both scored to give the Oaks their 11-1 lead.
Brian Garber came in to pitch the bottom of the eighth, giving up a leadoff walk to B&L center fielder Michael Johnson. With designated hitter Chris Elder at the plate, Johnson was thrown out stealing by Olson - a good thing because Elder proceeded to double to left center field. Garber got a ground ball on the next batter, however, followed by a strikeout, preserving the Oaks' 10-run lead and ending the game early due to the tournament's 10-Run Rule.
