Jesse Olson takes a lead off second in the Oaks game against Yolo. Fair Oaks lost the contest in extra innings by a score of 2-1.

Yolo 2, Fair Oaks 1 (League: 1-1, Overall: 5-1-1) - June 1 @ Bella Vista High - In another classic matchup between the two teams, Yolo Post 77 needed extra innings to beat Fair Oaks 2-1 at Bella Vista High School June 1.
Yolo scored its first run of the game in the top of the first inning as Oaks' starter Steve Rinaudo got off to a shaky start.
Rinaudo hit the first two batters he faced and then with one out gave up a hit down the first base line to score the runner from second and give Yolo a 1-0 lead.
Rinaudo then gave up a walk to load the bases, but the Oaks' defense came through as the next batter hit into a double play from shortstop Chris Dennison to Greg Polanski at second to Andrew LeDuc at first to end the inning.
Yolo nearly scored again in the fourth as Rinaudo gave up two consecutive hits to start the inning. But then the Oaks' pitcher proceded to strike out the next three batters to end the inning and keep the game at 1-0.
Fair Oaks came back in the bottom of the inning to tie the game as Rinaudo aided his own cause with a leadoff hit to left. With LeDuc at the plate, Rinaudo stole second. LeDuc flew out to right bringing right fielder Trevor Lewis to the plate. Rinaudo stole third and the throw from the catcher went into left field allowing Rinaudo to score and tie the game at 1-1.
Fair Oaks got a runner as far as third in the sixth inning, but couldn't score and the game remained knotted up through the end of regulation play.
The Oaks almost won it in the bottom of the ninth as LeDuc led off with a hit to left field. Tyler Robertson followed with a hit to right, sending LeDuc to second, but then the Oaks stalled out as Abel Alcantar flew to right and Justin Wilson struck out to give the Oaks two outs. The next batter, Keith Jennette, lined a single into left field, and LeDuc tried to score from second, but he was easily thrown out and the inning ended with the game still tied up.
LeDuc came in to pitch the top of the 10th and immediately got in trouble as a slow bouncer to second resulted in no play and a Yolo base runner. A wild pitch sent him to second and then a fly ball to right sent the runner to third with only one out. The next batter delivered an RBI single to left to make it a 2-1 game in Yolo's favor. LeDuc struck out the next two batters, but the damage was already done and the Oaks had to score or suffer the loss.
Yolo got two quick outs on the Oaks as Greg Polanski grounded to second and Kyle Richardson flew to center. In typical Oaks fashion, however, the next batter, catcher Jesse Olson doubled into left to keep the Oaks' hopes alive - at least for a few seconds. Olson was tagged off the bag on a trick play and the game ended with a 2-1 Yolo victory.
