Fair Oaks 13, Manhart 3 (League: 13-4, Overall: 28-8) - July 14 @ William Land Park - The Oaks overcame a slow start to break the game open in the later innings as Fair Oaks rolled to a 13-3 victory over Manhart in the second game of a doubleheader at William Land Park.
    The Oaks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as second baseman Brian Stamps led off with a ball to deep short that resulted in no throw to first. Shortstop Cameron Barr then walked to move Stamps to second and a fly ball by right fielder Abel Alcantar moved Stamps to third. Catcher Bret Gibson's sacrifice fly to center field then allowed Stamps to tag and score for the 1-0 advantage.
    Manhart came back in the bottom of the inning, however, to score two runs and take the lead, loading the bases with only one out. Oaks starter Taylor Sanders struck out the next batter he faced for the second out of the inning, but then a base hit to right brought in two runs for the 2-1 Manhart lead.
    The Oaks went out in order in the top of the second, but then came back in the third to retake the lead at 3-2.
    Third baseman Josh Britt led off with a walk, followed by a Stamps hit to left center. Barr moved the runners over with a sacrifice bunt and then Alcantar was intentionally walked to load the bases. The next batter, Gibson, flew to center field which allowed Britt to tag and score. The ball got away on the throw back in, however, and Stamps also came in to make it a 3-2 Oaks lead.
    Post 383 faced a new pitcher in the fourth and expanded their advantage to 5-2. Designated hitter Josh Glaser led off with a hit to center and then left fielder Mark Lincoln was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. First baseman Ben Schwefel got a hit to center to load the bases with no outs. Britt was the next batter, sending a ground ball to third. The throw came home to get Glaser at the plate for the first out of the inning. Stamps then got a hit to center field to score Lincoln and Barr followed with a hit of his own to center to score Schwefel to make it a 5-2 game.
    The only base runner over the next inning and a half was a two out walk to a Manhart batter in the fourth. But the Oaks exploded in the top of the sixth for six runs to take an 11-2 lead over Manhart.
    Schwefel led off with a walk and then with one out, Stamps got a hit to right field. Barr was hit by a pitch to load the bases and then a hit up the middle by Alcantar scored Schwefel and Stamps to make it 7-2. Gibson walked to reload the bases and then a hit off the shortstop's glove by  center fielder Jon Lang scored Barr for an 8-2 lead. Michael Garber, who had come in to pitch in the fifth inning, was hit by a pitch to force in Alcantar and then a Lincoln hit to left scored Gibson to make it 10-2. Schwefel followed with a hit to right to score Lang and the Oaks owned an 11-2 lead.
    Manhart went out in order in the bottom of the sixth and the Oaks went back to work in the top of the seventh, scoring another pair of runs for a 13-2 lead.
    Stamps led off with a walk and then Barr was hit by a pitch. with one out, Gibson walked to load the bases and a Lang hit to left field scored Stamps to make it 12-2. Garber then hit a fly ball to left that allowed Barr to score to up the Oaks lead to 13-2.
    A one out triple in the bottom of the seventh led to Manhart scoring its final run of the game after two were out. Garber got the final batter to fly out to center field to end the game and give the Oaks the 13-3 victory.
    Stamps went 4x4 for the Oaks in the game and compiled a 7x8 mark between the two games of the doubleheader.
