Yolo 7, Fair Oaks 2 (League: 14-4, Overall: 30-9) - July 20 @ Sacramento City College - Yolo Post 77 beat Fair Oaks 7-2 in the District 6 Playoffs at Sacramento City College.  The game was close until the fifth inning when Yolo scored twice to take a 4-1 lead over the Oaks.
Fair Oaks took an early advantage in the top of the first inning as third baseman Abel Alcantar drew a one out walk to start things off. A passed ball with first baseman Mike Sanchez at the plate moved Alcantar to second and then he scored on a hit to center field to give the Oaks a 1-0 lead.
Yolo came back in the bottom of the second to score twice off Oaks starter Charlie Robertson as a pair of hits put runners in scoring position with no outs. A ground out to short scored the first Yolo run and then a sacrifice fly brought in the second and Yolo took a 2-1 lead over the Oaks.
Four Oaks errors in the game played a part in the final outcome. The contest remained 2-1 until the bottom of the fifth when Yolo again got a pair of hits to start off the inning. A bunt back to the pitcher was bobbled to load the bases and then a sacrifice to right brought in Yolo's third run of the game. The next batter hit a ball to third that was misplayed and a fourth run came in to give Yolo a 4-1 lead.
The Oaks managed to get one run back in the top of the sixth as Robertson got a one out hit to right field, followed by walks to left fielder Troy Spivey and shortstop Cameron Barr to load the bases. Right fielder Josh Glaser then hit a check swing ball to first. The throw came home trying to get Robertson at the plate, but the ball was a little wide of its mark and Robertson scored to make it 4-2.
Yolo broke the game open in the seventh as a one out walk was followed by a double and a triple to bring in two more runs and make it a 6-2 game. Ben Schwefel took the mound for the Oaks, giving up a walk before striking out the next batter for the second out of the inning. The next batter then hit a ball off the third base bag resulting in no play and another run scoring to make it 7-2. A pitch in the dirt on the next batter resulted in the third out of the inning as the runner on second tried to take third on the play. Catcher Bret Gibson fired the ball to Alcantar at third to record the out and end the inning.
Fair Oaks had runners on in both the eighth and the ninth, but couldn't bring them home as Yolo took the winner's bracket victory, 7-2.
