Fair Oaks 5, Folsom 0 (League: 1-1, Overall: 4-2) - June 2 @ Folsom High School - After losing the first game of its doubleheader against Folsom 7-1, Fair Oaks Post 383 came back to shut out the Flames in the second game, 5-0.
The Oaks went out to a 3-0 lead in the fourth as designated hitter Bret Gibson led off with a hit to left field.  Right fielder Mike Sanchez was then hit by a pitch and then with one out, first baseman Charlie Robertson hit a ball to center field that went of the center fielder's glove and loaded the bases.
Shortstop Cameron Barr then hit a ball to second. The throw to first pulled the first baseman's foot off the bag and Gibson scored and the bases remained loaded. With two outs, third baseman Josh Britt hit a ball to short. The throw went to second, but Barr, the incoming runner, beat the throw and everyone was safe with Sanchez scoring to make it 2-0.
Folsom miscued again on the next batter as second baseman Greg Polanski hit a ball to short. The throw to first was bad and Robertson scored to make it a 3-0 game.
The Oaks added two more runs in the sixth as pinch hitter Keith Jennette drew a walk. Jennette stole second with catcher Ben Schwefel at the plate and then scored on Schwefel's hit to right field. Britt then sent a fly ball to left that went off the left fielder's glove sending Schwefel to third and Britt taking second. Polanski walked to load the bases. Jon Lang then sent a ball back to the pitcher with the throw coming home to get Schwefel at the plate. With the bases still loaded, Gibson walked to force in Britt from third and the Oaks took a 5-0 lead.
Oaks starter John Constance sent Folsom down in order in the bottom of the sixth and would have had a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh had a tough play at shortstop not allowed the leadoff batter reach base safely. Constance struck out the next batter, got a fly ball to left and them finished the Flames off with another strike out to end the game.
