Fair Oaks 12, Galt 2 (League: 4-0, Overall: 13-0) - June 11 @ Bella Vista High School - Fair Oaks overcame a slow start with nine runs in the seventh and eighth innings to beat visiting Galt 12-2 at Bella Vista High School.
    The Oaks led the whole contest, but it took most of the game for Post 383 to establish a big lead. The Oaks led 1-0 in the second, but Galt tied the game in the fourth, with the Oaks going back in front in the bottom of the inning.
    In the second, second baseman Josh Britt reached base on an error with one out. He stole second with first baseman Justin Haley at the plate and then with two outs, a walk to third baseman Jeff Nickell put two runners on. Shortstop Ryan Dettman followed with a double to right that scored Britt for the early 1-0 lead.
    With Galt tying the game in the fourth, the Oaks went back in front for good in the bottom of the inning as Britt led off with a hit to right, followed by a Haley hit to center. Nickell walked to load the bases and then Dettman dropped a hit just behind the third baseman to score Britt and Haley to make it a 3-1 game.
    Galt refused to go away, however, scoring again in the fifth to close the gap to only one run at 3-2.
    The game staye close until the seventh when the Oaks put four runs on the board to take a 7-2 lead. Josh Glaser led off the inning striking out, but the ball got away from the catcher and he made it safely to first. With designated hitter Bret Gibson at the plae, a wild pitch sent Glaser to second and he scored on a 3-2 pitch that gibson hit into left field for a double. With one out, Charlie Robertson drew a walk and then with two out, Haley got a hit up the middle that scored Gibson to make it 5-2. The throw home got away and Haley advance to second with Robertson landing on third. With Nickell at the plate, a passed ball allowed Robertson to score, with Haley advancing to third. Dettman then hit a ball to second, but the throw to first was bad and Haley scored to make it a 7-2 game.
    Galt went out in order in the eighth and Fair Oaks came back for five more runs in the bottom of the inning.
    Glaser led off with a double to right field and with Michael Garber at the plate, moved to third on a wild pitch. Garber got a hit to center that scored Glaser to make it 8-2. cody Osburn drew a walk and then Garber scored on a Robertson double to right to make it 9-2. Galt's third pitching change of the game didn't do anything for the visitors as Britt doubled to bring in both Osburn and Robertson for an 11-2 lead. With one out and Nickell at the plate, a passed ball allowed Britt to score from third. Two outs followed to end the Oaks scoring at 12.
    Galt got a pair of one out walks in the ninth off Haley who had come in to pitch the final inning, but Galt was unable to score giving the Oaks the 12-2 victory.
    Lyle Hobart started the game for Fair Oaks, pitching five innings and giving up only one hit. Powell Fansler relieved Hobart in the sixth and combined with Haley to no-hit and shut out Galt the rest of the way.
