games of doubleheaders just don't mix.
For the second time in the span of three days, the
Oaks lost the first game of a doubleheader against the Reno Muckdogs.
July 13, the Oaks lost a 1-0 decision at Bella Vista High. This time
the Oaks were beaten by an 8-5 margin at Sparks High School, dropping
their won-loss record to 14-Reno.
Reno did all its scoring in the first three innings,
scoring two runs in each of the first two innings and then adding four
in the third for an 8-0 advantage. The Oaks closed the score slightly
with a run in the fourth and added four in the sixth for the final 8-5
margin.
Jon Lang and Josh Britt each had a home run for the
Oaks, only the team's second and third round-trippers in 16 games. Jeff
Nickell and Ryan Dettman added two hits each.
