Fair Oaks 6, West Sacramento 2 (League: 0-0, Overall: 3-0) - May 25 @ William Land Park -  Fair Oaks jumped out to a 5-0 first inning lead and never looked back as the Oaks went to 3-0 in the 2008 District 6 Memorial Day Tournament in William Land Park.
Second baseman Josh Britt led off the first getting hit by a pitch and then shortstop Cameron Barr reached base on an apparent catcher interference call. Both runners advanced on a passed ball with right fielder Bryce Bandilla at the plate and then Britt scored on a Bandilla ground ball to first. Left fielder Abel Alcantar then reached first as he was hit by a pitch and with first baseman Justin Haley at the plate, took second on a ball that rolled away from the catcher. Barr then got caught off third and scored as a throw from the catcher back to third was dropped to make it 2-0. Haley walked and Alcantar moved to third on the error and then Alcantar scored on a ground ball to short by designated hitter Josh Glaser. Center fielder Ryan Dettman then doubled to score Haley to make it 4-0 and Dettman scored to make it 5-0 as third baseman Taylor Sanders struck out, but reached base on a dropped ball that rolled away from the catcher.
Oaks starter Powell Fansler put West Sacramento down in order in the bottom of the inning, including two strikeouts and held them scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when a leadoff double and a one out hit made the score 5-1.
The Oaks countered in the sixth with a single run as Alcantar was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Jon Lang went in to run for him at first and moved to second on a one out balk call with Charlie Robertson at the plate. A passed ball sent Lang to third. Robertson eventually walked and then Dettman hit a ball to first, but beat the first baseman to the bag for a hit and Lang scored to make it 6-1.
West Sacramento added a run in the sixth off a single and a triple with one out to make it 6-2, but Fansler got out of the inning with no additional runs scoring.
Andrew Gutierez took the mound for the Oaks in the bottom of the seventh and despite two walks ended West Sacramento's chances and preserved the final 6-2 score for Fair Oaks.
