Fair Oaks 12, Santa Rosa 0 (League: 12-2, Overall: 27-5) - July 4 @ Laurel Creek Park, Fairfield - Oaks pitching continued to dominate its opponents as starting pitcher Cody Osburn tossed a five-inning no-hitter against Santa Rosa in the Oaks second game of the day.
On the heels of a 13-2, two-hit win over Tomsen Cabinetry, the Oaks put down Santa Rosa 12-0 to move to 3-1 in tournament play.
The Oaks went up 2-0 in the bottom of the first as shortstop Cameron Barr led off with a first-pitch home run to center field for a 1-0 lead. Right fielder Michael Garber followed with a double to center field and then walks to catcher Bret Gibson and center fielder Josh Glaser loadeed the bases. A hit to right by designated hitter Charlie Robertson scored Garber for a 2-0 lead. A walk to left fiedler Cole Carter reloaded the bases, but the next two Oaks batters struck out to end the inning.
Post 383 added five more runs in the second as third baseman Jeff Nickell was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Barr followed with a hit to left that sent Nickell to third and then Nickell scored on Garber's hit up the middle to make it 3-0. Gibson followed with a hit to right, but a base running lapse on the Oaks part prevented any runs from scoring. Barr had rounded third and was headed for home, but thought better of it and returned to third -- only to find Garber coming to the bag as well. Barr had no choice but to try for home and was tagged out. Meanwhile Garber was safe at third with Gibson taking second on the play. Glaser followed with a slow roller toward second, beating the throw to first and allowing Garber to score for a 4-0 lead. A fly ball to left by Robertson brought home Gibson and a home run to right by Carter brought in Garber to make it 7-0.
Five more runs followed in the third to give the Oaks their final tally of 12 runs. Second baseman Josh Britt led off with a walk and then nickell was hit by a pitch for the second time in the game. Britt scored on a Barr double to left center and a Garber fly ball to right allowed Nickell to score to make it a 9-0 game. Gibson walked and with Glaser at the plate stole second on a pitch that was in the dirt. Taylor Sanders went in to run for Gibson and then both Barr and Sanders scored on a  Glaser hit to left to make it 11-0. With two outs, the Oaks final run came in as Carter got a hit up the middle to bring in Glaser to give Post 383 a 12-0 lead.
Osburn allowed no hits in the game and Santa Rosa only had two base runners on a first inning walk and last inning error. Osburn struck out eight consecutive batters at one point in a stretch where the Oaks recorded 10 consecutive outs (from the first inning walk to the fifth inning error).
