Fair Oaks 9, Manhart 3 (League: 6-1, Overall: 16-4-1) - June 20 @ William Land Park, Sacramento - Fair Oaks came back from an early 1-0 deficit to post a 9-3 win over Manhart at William Land Park in the first game of a doubleheader.

Manhart scored a single run in the first due largely to errors by the Oaks and the game stayed 1-0 until the top of the sixth when Fair Oaks broke the contest open with five runs.

The Oaks had only one hit through the fifth inning, but a Manhart pitching change seemed to agree with Post 383 as designated hitter Mike Nantze led off the sixth inning with a double down the left field line. Chris Harms, who started the game at first, but moved to second after a first-inning injury to shortstop Ryan Dettman caused the Oaks to shuffle their lineup a bit, followed with a ground ball to short, beating the throw to first for a hit. A bunt back to the pitcher by center fielder Branden Lang moved the runners over and then left fielder Cody Osburn's hit to right scored Nantze to tie the game at 1-1. Third baseman Brian Kennedy followed with a hit to right center to score Harms and give the Oaks a 2-1 lead. Nick Anicich, who took Dettman's place in the batting order, followed with a hit to deep short to load the bases. Josh Britt, who replaced Dettman at short after starting the game at second, was the next batter and he sent the ball into left field for a double that cleared the bases and gave the Oaks a 5-1 lead. Britt tried to stretch the hit into a triple, but was tagged out as he slid into the bag.

The Oaks held the 5-1 advantage until the bottom of the seventh when a hit, walk and error resulted in two more Manhart runs to close the game to 5-3. But Fair Oaks came right back in the top of the eighth with a pair of runs of their own to make it a 7-3 contest.

With one out, Britt walked and moved to third on a hit to center field by right fielder Jon Lang. Lang advanced to second on the throw in to third trying to get Britt. Catcher Shawn Wheeler then hit a ball back up the middle that deflected off the pitcher's glove allowing both Britt and Lang to score to make it a 7-3 game.

Josh Paige came in to pitch the bottom of the eighth for the Oaks, sending Manhart down in order. The Oaks then came back to score their final two runs of the game in the top of the ninth.

Osburn led off with a hit to right center and then with one out, Anicich hit a ball toward second that took a high bounce over the head of the Manhart second baseman. Britt grounded back to the pitcher, but Jon Lang followed with a double to right field to score Osburn and Anicich and give the Oaks a 9-3 lead.

Paige mopped up in the bottom of the inning, once again sending Manhart down in order to give the Oaks the win.
